This one's perfect for Valentines Day, and it would work really well for wedding tables also. You could use either fresh or artificial, and change the flowers to suit your theme.
Keeping it simple is the best approach when it comes to designing. If you are just starting out, this simple rounded topiary is super easy.
Version one:
I found a lovely tall red ceramic vase with silver accents. It came in a set of two, which will work well for demonstrating the two methods or looks you can achieve using only roses.
Method:
Fill vase with either grey/green foam, depending on whether you are working with fresh or artificial flowers. Or if you have access to a round foam ball use that instead.
Cut all roses so that you have a stem length of say 4”.
Think round ball, and starting at the base insert all flowers to cover foam. Edge if possible with rose leaves.
Version two:
Fill container with foam.
Take bunch of roses/ flowers and cut to same length – the height of the container.
Bind at the top up by the flowers heads with rope, raffia, wire, and repeat at the base ensuring all stems sit nice and neat and straight.
Push stems several inches down into the foam.
Cover base with moss.
