Constance Spry inspired Floristry: Crescent Arrangement in a Ceramic Dish

Channels / Flowers of the Past

In this video, we delve into the remarkable world of Constance Spry, the grand dame of floral design. Her influence on the floral industry during the 40s, 50s, and 60s was truly inspiring. Known for her boundary-breaking approach, she famously stated, "the difference between a weed and a flower is merely an opinion." Spry found beauty in the most unexpected places, incorporating texturally interesting and visually stimulating elements into her arrangements.

Join us as we create a boat or crescent shaped arrangement—perfect for adding a visual lift to your coffee table, side table, or any space that needs a touch of elegance. To create this arrangement, we'll be using a boat-shaped shallow dish container packed with chicken wire to secure the blooms.

Gather these materials for the design:
2 stems of green butterfly hydrangea
2 tea or spray white roses
1 large white hydrangea
2 monsteria or similar leaves.

Discover the timeless beauty and creativity of Constance Spry's floral design as we bring her legacy to life!
