Floral design using Gloriosa - or as they are correctly known, Gloriosa Rothschild lilies. I think that as a flower they are perfect standalone specimen of flowers that require nothing other than themselves! Actually, that’s how I feel about most flowers. I just love them. They climb and grow with free abundance wherever they please.
The design being shown here is what I like to call, ‘vignette designs’. Little moments held in time, displayed in an open box or frame. On the base of the frame I placed a black tile, then found two little black glass tea light candle holders which have a golden or bronzed paint finish inside, which will connect back to the golden colour-way of the Gloriosa.
- Place tile on base of interior of frame/cage
- Position black tea light holders
- Fill with water then cut flowers and place at varying levels
The other thing you could do for an even simpler approach to displaying, is to take glass bottles and give exterior a coat of black board paint then use chalk to scribe name of the flower.
