When my mother was alive I used to love gifting her a lovely posy of fresh flowers, a beautiful bottle of wine and something I’d made like big fat round pearls or something she could pop on and look ever so posh and flash.

Things to gather:
- You will need a round ceramic container in a colour way to match. The container selected needs to be big enough to hold a bottle of wine or perhaps champagne.
- A hand held round posy of fresh or artificial flowers.
- A string or two of inexpensive pearls or something in the jewellery line your mum might enjoy popping on.
Method:
Insert the bottle of wine into the middle of your container.
Insert the posy to old side or make two and insert both sides of the wine.
Wrap some pearls around the top of the bottle and then drape through container as if they are part of the design.
I so love this type of designing. Container, flowers and instantly a
wonderful gift with add ons.
I like to make Papier Mache shallow platters which I have on hand at all times as my base to place gifts I want to present in Professional manner.
Super easy to create. Just take a plastic plate. Line with plastic kitchen wrap. Rip pieces of white newsprint into small strips. Take a paint brush and paper glue and apply layer after layer of paper to surface of plate. Let each coat dry over night before apply next layer. Repeat for as many layers as desired and you have a strong sturdy platter. I usually do 8 to 10 layers. It can either be paint finished or left plain and aged.
Or if you can’t bebothered with all the above, just find a small cane
tray.
You will also need cellophane, a stapler, ribbon to match in with flowers, and a nice pearl or gem to embellish top of wine bottle. Fix in place with hot glue.
Take a long piece of cellophane and lay this on a flat clean dry surface. Place platter or cane tray into the middle of the cellophane.
Place ceramic container and flowers down on top of tray. Drape pearls or handmade necklace to wrap around base of container.
Bring both sides of cellophane up together.
Wasn’t that just the easiest thing ever!
