How to make a living succulent Christmas table top design using a silver platter, glass dome and a few fresh succulents.
This design is for those who are looking for something small, living and minimal. Actually minimal effort with heaps of visual interest all captured and bound under a crystal or glass cake dome. Easy easy designing using things from around the home!
Things to gather:
- Silver cake plate: http://amzn.to/2fQUHPr
- Glass or crystal dome or cover: http://amzn.to/2fR7lhk
- Small piece of green foam soaked: http://amzn.to/1OblLEz
- Baby tears to cover wet foam: http://amzn.to/2bNKphq
- Baby succulents: http://amzn.to/2gRONhJ
- Tiny birds nest: http://amzn.to/2h0wACP
- White artificial bird: http://amzn.to/2gROZ0u
- Ceramic leaves, or whatever you have laying around the house to decorate
Optional – gypsoflia, roses etc.
Method:
Place soaked foam circle in a size to suit down on top of platter.
Cover with living baby tears. There will be sufficient moisture coming off foam to keep plant living for an extended time but you might need to mist with water frequently.
Insert baby succulents and gathered materials to fit within confines of dome once positioned over finished groupings.
I love these and find that the sky is the limit when it comes to creating a still life design. These look fantastic grouped and placed
along a wedding table.
