In this tutorial, we'll explore how to create stunning arrangements without relying on environmentally unfriendly floral foam. Instead, we'll be using a technique that will not only hold your flowers securely but also bring a touch of nostalgia to your designs. Trust me, the results are amazing, and it's time for this style to make a comeback.
To get started, gather any small container you have on hand. It could be a ceramic swan, duck, tulip or fan-shaped vessel, a round bowl, or one of those charming elongated crescent-shaped vases popular in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The choice is yours!
Next, select your flowers. Dahlias, roses, camellias, and spring flowers are all great options. Use whatever you like or have available. The number of flowers you'll need will depend on the size of your container.
For this technique, you'll also need some chicken mesh or fine galvanized wire, as well as wire cutters and protective gloves. Please note that working with wire can be rough on the skin, so it's important to take precautions and protect your hands.
