Today I have a crafty DIY way of displaying and propagating basil on the bench or counter top.
It wasn’t until fairly recently that I discovered that picked basil will self-root, or should I say, start sprouting little roots in a glass or bowl of water. This got me thinking, could I turn this easy propagating method into something that could be an ideal display or design.
I found light bulbs I had long forgotten I had tucked away, but little glass bottles would work equally well. I also had a faux concrete cake plate which became the perfect display stand.
TBH, I like watching nature in action and love most, uncomplicated designing. You don’t need lots to sometimes tell a story to bring joy into your life.
The other thing I love about propagation is, you can grow on to use another day plus gift what is surplus to friends and family. To me, it’s the wee things that make life grand.
