Here's an easy sewing tutorial for those of you just starting out. This reusable lunch or school
book bag is a great way to start learning how to sew. My thoughts are that if you intend learning a new skill, then what better way than to start by making something useful, right from the start.
See my previous video on how to set up a sewing machine here: https://youtu.be/CO1EW175A2Y
You will need to gather:
Fabric backed plastic table clothing - 12” wide by 30” long
(31cm x 76 cm) the cloth comes in many designs.
Pins, scissors, measuring tape, self-sticking Velcro tape or knots, sewing machine and matching thread.
Method
With rights sides of material facing – (you will have backing facing you).
Fold bottom edge up to a measurement of 12” (31cm).
Pin down both sides.
Stitch down pinned area, removing pins as you go.
Turn over a small portion of top flap and stitch.
Fix Velcro tape inside top and front.
