This is a wonderful design celebrating autumnal foliage, white delphiniums, dahlias, cones, hydrangea, berries and a few lilies. It is an arrangement that not only speaks autumn and fall but with a few additions and subtractions can be used for a host of many celebrations throughout the year. Life is busy and with this design, once you have the basic structure in place, you can create a new look in a flash.
The secret lies in keeping basically to the calming balancing colour combination of whites and green. In todays segment I will share how easy it is to say, ‘well here it is, my fall floral arrangement’. In another segment, I will share how easy it is to make it more Christmas themed.
Things to gather:
- 3 x stems of hydrangea leaf spray
- 3 x stems of eucalyptus
- 2 x stems Montana rounded rosehip
- 1 x doubled headed green hydrangea
- 3 x white delphinium
- 3 x white dahlia
- 3 x white spray dahlia
- 2 or 3 x lily lemon/plum
- 2 or 3 white lily
- I used a heavy wicker basket & bucket in which I insert the foam. You use less foam this way.
- Clumps of eucalyptus, holly, spruce, bay, camellia or whatever you have access to, all cut to the width of the opening of your basket or container,
- Long lengths of fruit tree branches
- Autumnal leaf branches either fresh or artificial
- Pine cones or pine cone picks
Happy thanks giving, and fall!
