How to make a Wedding Table Garland using rosemary, olive, bay and gum

Channels / Wedding Ideas

Today I'll show you my simple method for creating wedding table garlands of rosemary, olive, bay and gum.

Just recently my friend got married and asked if I could make her table garlands container just rosemary, olive, bay & gum. “No flowers please, just foliage”. I thought great not a problem until she explained she was having 3 long table 10 meters in length, plus she wanted a garland made to go around the door frame where they were to say ‘I do’. Panic immediately set in when I calculated over 40 meters, including around the cake and the easel holding the seating plan.

As you will see, the completed tables looked fantastic and as for the fragrance emitted from the foliage combinations, it was a botanical heady mix of loveliness!

You will need
- Rope (I used ½ rope which I got from the garden shop)
- Twine or jute
- If making meters as I did, you will need buckets and buckets each of Gum, rosemary, olive, and bay.

TIP: the garlands can be made the day before, but must be sprayed with fresh water often and completely covered with moist paper kitchen towels or similar.
