Dramatic Theatrical Reds | A winter floristry design featuring Protea and Apples

Channels / Flowers & Floristry Tutorials

Have a look at my new range of silk flowers at http://www.prestigebotanicals.com
Here is a design that speaks ‘here I am its fall, winter and Christmas’. It doesn’t consist of much, but is visually big, bold, strong dramatic and theatrical. It reminds me of ‘phantom of the opera’.

From http://www.prestigebotanicals.com I used:
- 2 x spiral gum: https://bit.ly/SpiralEucalyptusLeaf
- 2 x large red king protea: https://bit.ly/RedKingProtea
- 1 x large red/burgundy hydrangea: https://bit.ly/ShortStemBurgundyHydrangea

You will also need:
- I used a tall brown ceramic container which always gives the illusion of being big/grander.
- Several branches of fruit tree or twisty willow – these need to be twice the length of the vase/container. I’ll share how to cut and how to achieve the correct lengths/proportions, during my demonstration.
- Several branches containing either fresh or artificial apples.
- Gum nuts.
- 2 x black feathers.
- Viola leaves or similar. These are to create a frame or base for everything to rest on.

Beautiful visual & bold designs!
