Join me in this floral design journey as we solve Sandy's design issue together. Sandy wanted a pink and green arrangement for her newly refurbished lounge. She came across my DIY pink-inspired Wedgewood vase, which she recreated and adorned with artificial green and pink hydrangeas, white blush proteas, and hydrangea leaves. However, she encountered challenges in making the arrangement sit and look just right.
But fear not! Today, we'll not only help Sandy but also address similar design problems that many of you have shared with me. The combination of pink and green is truly delightful, particularly for spring and summer. Sandy envisioned the addition of spiky white blush proteas to carry the design into autumn, and I absolutely love the fresh and vibrant color choice.
The solution is simple yet transformative. By adding a few smaller white and green flowers, we can achieve a rounded design that captivates the eye. Snowballs play a magical role, gracefully cascading down the side of the vase and drawing attention to the larger green hydrangea. The white proteas, placed in the middle, serve as focal points, with their pink-tinged blush on the outer bracts harmonizing with the pink of the hydrangea. The white snowballs beautifully echo the white accents on the vase, seamlessly connecting all the elements.
Here's a valuable tip from me: When working with white, which is an achromatic color, it's crucial to incorporate small, medium, and large forms to create visual interest. Additionally, if your container has white elements, like the one you see in the vase, it's essential to bring that color up into the design.
