Life can be busy at this time of the year and for some it might feel like the most expensive time of the year. After reading through many of your requests I thought that I would share my cost-effective cheat approach to producing table flower for the time poor. What I love best about this type of designing is that once all components have been gathered, the end result is visually impressive and stunning.
So, let’s start the journey. First up you’ll need to do a bit of crafting:
- 4 or 5 green glass water or wine bottles – labels removed and the bottles thoroughly cleansed.
- White chalk paint to wash around the mid-section of the bottles.
- Christmas inspired printed paper serviettes. These will be decoupaged down on top of the white paint. See previous video on how to decoupage.
- A tube of embossing paint – I used red but you can get it from most craft stores in many colours.
- Into each bottle – a sprig of holly, white hellebore and a couple of maple leaves. You might also like as an additional extra embellishment, small Christmas baubles, bells, leaves etc.
Now to the fun part, these could either be grouped together on a tray along with a few candles or for something elongated and visually stunning – Gather a magnolia leaf garland, a few red & white poinsettia, ivy, hellebores, holly, cones & battery powered seed or fairy lights!
