How to make a Kiwiana inspired Christmas tree, or if you are looking for table decorations for a ‘kiwi’ wedding then try this for inspiration! Several weeks ago I heard mention that if we all planted a tree or gifted a tree this would in part help with climate change. With carbon emissions increasing, the experts think that globally this might be beneficial for us all… and how hard is it to plant a tree?

Things to gather:

I found at the garden centre a Pinus Pinea tree or a pine nut tree. It looks like a Christmas tree, and once planted in years to come it will provide fruit/nuts.

I used a ‘kite’ or flax bag to place and cover pot.

I also used artificial baby ferns, pohutukawa flower sprigs along with paua shell flowers I made from paua plus from Maori printed and inspired artwork, I turned these into little hanging balls to represent ‘poi’.

Moss to cover soil.
