How to Propagate Pineapples, and make a terrarium to grow it in

Channels / Gardening Tutorials

How to turn a glass vase into a footed terrarium to artistically display and propagate little seedings, succulents or as I have done today an attractive way of propagating the tops of mini pineapple plants.
The ‘pups’ or little side shoots that arrived on the pineapples, I planted up into a pot a few weeks ago. The great thing about mini pineapple flowers/plants is they last weeks and will usually start rooting from the base up, I was about to throw the mother away when on closer examination decided the tops still contained life. Visually they hold interesting textural beauty and just perfect for another life in a terrarium!

To create footed vase terrarium I used a cylinder vase glued to a smaller parfait glass and some glue - I always use 2-part epoxy resin.

For the terrarium you will need sand, stones and soil.
